About Marions Vineyard
In the summer of 1979, an indefatigable Cypriot and a Californian dreamer began crafting Marion’s Vineyard from an overgrown block of impenetrable bush and rock. Marion and Mark were pioneers of the cool, beautiful and fertile Tamar River valley. Our family is still here, the second generation is working alongside the first, and the third are enjoying the farming life.
The grapevines love living here too. And the flowers and the bees and the trees and the wallabies and the worms. We are now a fully certified organic and biodynamic vineyard ensuring that you are drinking and enjoying wines that speak of the land and respect it with utmost reverence.
We work hard every day on our land to bring a little bit of our dream to your glass. The estate can be found on the west bank of the Tamar River, 35kms north of Launceston, right in the heart of the Tamar Valley Wine Route in a village called Deviot. Come for the wines… stay for the view, and like us… you may never want to leave.

Our Cellar Door and Taverna Delicatessen is now open to all visitors, enabling you to customise your own platter, pick, and sip with a view like no other in the Tamar Valley. Reserve your view, or simply drop by. No BYO.
Seasonal Cellar Door Opening Hours
April to October 11 am – to 5pm everyday
October to April - 11am to 4pm everyday.
Our Cellar Door is perched midway up our slope and commands the best view on the property. From here you can look out and sip something delicious and chat with the owners or just gaze contentedly. If you feel adventurous, there are plenty of nooks and crannies to discover on site.
Look for our teenage redwood forest, crooked rock paths leading to a new adventure, secluded picnic tables amongst lush gardens, ancient Roman-Greco heads watching you, and some magnificently, breathtaking views under our giant Sea Eagle.
And of course, we make wines from our vineyard. Delicious vino from the mature vines you see on site, ranging from fun, aromatic field blends to serious Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and mouth-watering juicy big reds: Syrah, Tempranillo and Cabernet – hard to find gems in Tasmania. There are also some carefully cellared reds for your pleasure. The perfect stop whilst visting Tamar Valley Wineries.
